Free draft check
This page counts what I look for first in a draft: its length, the length of its sentences, its names and numbers, and its stock phrases. A count cannot tell you whether an essay is good, but it can show you which passages to read twice.
Nothing you paste leaves your browser. The page sends no text to a server and stores nothing.
Words/Limit
Sentence/Length
Each bar is one sentence, in order. Orange marks sentences over 30 words. A long sentence is fine. Several in a row deserve a second look.
Specifics/Stock
Purple marks numbers and capitalized names, which usually indicate evidence. Orange marks phrases that appear in many essays. A marked word is not an error.
